Life Mission depicted within the Horoscope

The thing about Astrology is that it can give you so much information about your life. With that information you can get a good idea about your career, relationships and most importantly, your life mission. “Life mission” sounds so grand and altruistic, but in our Western Civilization way of thinking it just doesn’t sound practical. But if you could project in life to a point in time that is close to the end of your life you might see yourself pondering the purpose of your life, if your life had any value and if you were able to influence other people in a positive way. But what if you could think about that life mission early on, or at least well before the end of your life, wouldn’t it be a fascinating subject to consider? With Astrology you really can ask about your life mission, and you can acquire some practical answers at any point along the time-line of your life journey.

A lot of people are confused about the exact nature of Astrology. What Astrology means involves a lot of different details, but first I can say quickly it’s not a psychic revelation; second it takes time for a good Astrologer to do the research necessary to give you details that you might need to provide answers about your inquiry. Third, Astrology does need to have a fairly good idea of the time, date, and location of your birth. It is possible to do a bit of research and narrow down the likely birth time. But that process like the research involved in the initial Astrology inquiry requires a bit of time.

Once you understand that a process in undertaken and are agreeable with that process, the Astrologer can do his work. That work might take from half an hour to several days depending on the work that is necessary to complete the inquiry. Some projects can be done quickly. For example a career analysis can be completed at a very rapid pace. Other projects, life a review of your life, require much more time. But if you are willing to allow a detailed analysis, you are staging the possibility of quick responses and excellent details in future requests.

As mentioned, a career analysis can be a quick activity. But a detailed analysis of two parties in a relationship can be pleasantly involved. The details and unique Astrological perspective can be informative and startling. The thing about a relationship study is that ideally it would be nice if the Astrologer was given the time to understand the current relationship story line before proceeding with the research. Relationship studies require the birth data of both parties; and when I say “relationship” it can refer to business, friendship, or sexual. For example it can be advantageous to consider the personality of a person that may become a future business partner. The insight gained can be quite surprising.

After the inquiry and research you will be invited to participate in a consultation. I prefer to present the consultation as a dialogue with active client participation. Unless the client is an avid Astrologer, I make a point to avoid jargon. Astrological jargon is distracting and can be like a misguided missile that misses the point but causes damage elsewhere. If the individual is interested in the Astrology, especially if they have some knowledge, I will share the origin and and interruption of the information that was provided. On this web site I have provided some of the key elements that can be used in an analysis. I don’t spell out my method, mostly because it would be quite involved to attempt to detail the whole approach, an approach that has taken me years to develop. But I do offer as a free service a great deal of information that can be helpful in appreciating and understanding Astrology.

Back to the idea of a “Life Mission”. In Astrology the one big bump that I keep running into is the amazing match the birth chart has with the individual’s life. That match raises a number of questions about fate, “mission”, and eternal re-occurrence. Just considering the questions presents the possibility of a vast volume of inquiry. It is pleasant and also difficult to consider these questions. One response it to simple push the questions to the side and use these wonderful tool to help individuals make the most of their life. But it is also intriguing to contemplate the possible answers to these questions.

But above all the possible considerations, it is clear that meditation on one’s horoscope can yield revelation and direction about one’s life calling. Vocational calling involves “level”. The results of our education, family history, and business opportunities determines the “level” in which we can function. For example, two individuals may both have a clear call to be artists. One with advanced degrees teaches at a University. The other individual with no formal education may become well know as an illustrator. Both having similar interests, but both with very different levels of opportunity that can be pursued. “Calling” and “life mission” are often close but not quite the same. One can have a vocational calling to be an artist, but the “life mission” may be to teach others the joy of artistic self-expression.

How does one meditate with the horoscope? What specific references do we look at in the horoscope that will give us information about our life mission? These and related questions will be considered in the next installment.
