The Mayan Calendar and 2012

Astrology probably evolved from primitive times when man first related the events of his life to a power stronger than himself.

Some further thoughts on the Mayan Calendar.

Taking a further look at the Dec 21, 2012 horoscope a couple of ideas came to mind. First, by its self the chart is not really all that unique, as compared to the 2010 chart for example. With that recognition I need to point out that there are three primary ways to look at a future transit chart.

First one can simple analyze it as it presents itself. Second, one can take into consideration those aspects or particularities that historically stand out in a mundane horoscope. For example if we see Saturn square, opposed or conjunct Pluto we often can predict a great upset. An eclipse is always suggestive. Also Jupiter and Saturn have a conjunction every 20 year, opposition about every 10 years, and these events usually relate to historical events. But we see none of those things in the chart for 2012.

The third option is to compare the chart to another chart. Comparing the 2012 date to my horoscope for example, yields some interesting results. However comparing the 2012 chart to the most widely accepted United States horoscope yields lots of aspects. [US Mars conjunct Pluto, US Jupiter square Uranus, US Neptune opposed the Mayan Ascendant, US Uranus opposed Mercury].

What does all this mean? I don’t want to make specific predictions. But a couple points come to mind. First, nations will respond to these dates. Second, I believe that many people will find that these dates, especially the 2012 date, relates to their horoscope. Finally, I believe this suggests that as a human family we are being drawn to take responsibility for the world we live in. Many seemingly ordinary people are being called upon to roles of leadership. That so many charts reflect connecting points with these dates, significant to the Mayan calendar, suggests that many have a role in the healing the earth, and restoring the dignity of the human family.

it's easier to imagine terrible things happening that year than to picture a future in which we treat one another and this wonderful planet with respect, isn't it?

I can hardly find the words to describe what I am feeling now, what terrible hope and joy- cause hope IS new and frightening to so many of us.

Does anyone know how to see what your natal chart is going to look like in 2012?

The Natal Chart never changer, what changes is how the planets interact with the natal chart. Specifically, real time planets, referred to as transits, create angles (aspects), that create an atmosphere of change and possibility. One can look back and see historical change that occurred when the same aspects were created at different times. Anticipating those aspects in the future allows the Astrologer to suggest a repetition of those patterns that was seen in the past.

On an individual basis, one can see the patterns in the past and also suggest how those patterns will "play out" in the future. The Consulting Astrologer, with the client, completes a detailed analysis of the natal chart and creates a personal time line that demonstrates behavior patterns, and can extend that time line into the future.

Regarding 2012, an amazing number of people seem to have natal charts that relate to the chart for that day. By comparing the two charts, natal and locally created 2012 chart, one can see how they interact or relate. It's my opinion that this date is important at least from a spiritual perspective, that it might represent the beginning of a new time when spiritual values are of primary concern.

Yeah that is one option but we hold the future in our hands. Predictions are just a way of people wanting to be right and then when someone is like I TOLD YOU SO... Really the world can use 2012 as kinda of a save the world date. That is what a lot are doing as i type this. The one tribe of the human world will unite again. Love & Light.

Mayan scholars are skeptical of the modern Western interpretations of their calendar. Specifically, they don't find any evidence to suggest that the calendar ending in 2012 is taken to mean that the world will end on 2012. That, however, does not mean that there isn't any astrological significance of the date.

I have no background in Mayan calendars. But I can tell you that the changes in the horoscope over the next few years is startling to say the least. And there is definitely a concrete connection between horoscope events and world events.

Pluto in Capricorn suggests reorganization, streamlining, and economizing. Making decisions that will align our ambitions with our best possible life purpose. Pluto is now in the early degrees of Capricorn, an ideal time to maximize long term potential.

One focus each of us needs to consider is our vocation. This is an ideal time to really consider the direction and mission of our life. Most people are in dead end jobs that they hate. The horoscope can help individuals define the best career possible and direct them to get their life back on a course that is meaningful and fulfilling.

Astrocartography is a psuedoscience. I can pick a magical date from my bottom and look back in history and find something important on that date. Its all subject to interpretation.

I believe that we are crossing into a new time. Evidence to me is all around. In my opinion, i hope this time means we grow as a species, realize our place on this planet and in this universe. I do not believe we can grow until we accept that we are made from this universe. I don't believe some magical being placed us here. Logic is usually absent in this mindset, and will only hinder your growth as a human being. I believe we are all of the same. You people are as much my real borthers and sisters as the ones that reside in my home. I believe I am part of the dirt on the ground, the trees in the forrests and the stars in the sky. Everything is made of the same building blocks. The matter of my being is the matter from all around us. For me, I see the new age bringing us in touch with higher understandings of life and conciousness. Whatever you take that to mean. Love everyone and everything as they deserve, even those who don't return the favor.

You clearly have no idea about the meaning or purpose of Astrocartography. So how can you make such a pronouncement?

Perhaps if I wrote an article about Astrocartography you will have a better idea about the subject, and be in a better position to to be critical.

Your birthday chart definitely will look different then the natal chart, which is the chart for the time of your birth. The chart for 2012 will have a whole different arrangements of the planets. But you can learn a lot by comparing the two charts. Looking at key planetary relationships and aspects. It can give you an idea of your life at that time, also your life mission. Because nothing is more important than establishing a clear life purpose.
