The Power in a Day

Posted On: Fri, 09/29/2006 - 4:36pm by JoeAstrologer

Monday’s Child is fair of face,

Tuesday’s child is full of grace,

Wednesday’s child is full of woe,

Thursday’s child has far to go,

Friday’s child is loving and giving,

Saturday’s child works hard for its living

But the child that’s born on the Sabbath day

Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

It’s an old rhyme, but one that contains a bit of Astrology.
That idea being that time of birth relates to the nature of the child. To add further interest, consider the origin of the names of the week days.

Monday: named after the Moon
Tuesday: Mars

Electro-Shock Treatment

Electro-Shock

Recently my mother informed me that one of our older relatives is severely depressed, and as a result her doctors have advised Electo-Shock treatment. Over the years I’ve known a number of individuals that have received this treatment, and I’ve notice a expanding group of web sites that detail the horror of this so called treatment. Of course the MD’s say that “many” people get better as a result of the treatment. However, if someone was putting me through this “treatment”, I’d do my best to say, pretend or believe I was “really” doing much better. The fun part is that even if the patient shows indications of progress, they must continue the treatments for some time in order to be weaned off the delightful process.

The Second Coming

Posted On: Sat, 09/02/2006 - 8:02pm by JoeAstrologer

“What if the most profound and vital clue to the crisis of our epoch were that God is becoming concrete? This is the great symbol of the Incarnation. But while twenty centuries ago it was one particular human being who was believed to have assumed the awesome responsibility of God becoming known in and through him alone, today at this time when many expect and await a Second Coming, we should realize that the Incarnation of God is occurring in humanity as a whole, in global Man. ……a planetary Incarnation in which we may all participate if we have sufficient faith and the courage to vanquish the ghosts of our yet unredeemed collective past.” Dane Rudhyar, The Planetarization of Consciousness, Aurora Press, ‘77
